Kathryn & Shannon's Road Trip: Day One

So this week me & my friend Kathryn decided to go on a road trip. But not just any road trip, a road trip to see our favourite people. We've contemplated the idea many times but this time we were going to make the idea come true. So we set off on Sunday 26th July heading towards our first destination, Bath in Kathryn's trusty Bella, a.k.a the most trusty Toyata Yaris you'll ever set your eyes on and Kathryn's pride and joy.

With the help of Tina the tomtom(or Suzie the Satnav as Kathy likes to call her) we made it successfully to Bath to Kathryn's newly humble abode. To say the least we were both very excited once we reached, what is known as student land amongst the Bath community. Her house was huge, her bedroom not so much so. But then again that's what you get when your bedroom is picked out of a hat, let's just say she got the short straw of the house. However fear not, with a bit of DIY SOS we had her room rearranged and looking beautiful in no time.  *inserts amazing photography of kathryn's room*

After playing DIY SOS we worked up quite the appetite and made our way to the nearest Chinese, where our eyes were bigger than our belly. Chinese mother clucking galore, literally. I'd insert an amazing picture right now but Snapchat is an asshole. So after gaining giant food babies we went back upstairs to carry on with our DIY SOS challenge. After discovering the world's most ugliest table to ever have been made was too fat to get through Kathryn's door we gave up on that idea and decided that Kathy just had to live with it. We also discovered a bin liner full of Kathryn's clothes that she didn't even realised she owned. Cohhh. How can a girl own so many clothes?! I'm not being a massive hypocrite right now, I promise, y'all trust me right?

However the highlight of the night was at 12am when the impossible became possible. I'll set the scene. We were just about to settle down to bed when Kathryn called to me "Have you got everything from my room Shannon?", as we were staying in a different room that night. I replied "Yes Kathy!".. Or so I thought. Kathryn closes her bedroom door behind her & attempts to reopen the door with her key, because why the heck not. This is when she discovers that she is locked out of her own bedroom. That's right locked out of her very own bedroom with her key in her hand! Let's just say when she shouted down the corridor she was locked out of her room, I didn't expect her to have the key in her hand. We tried every key in the house but no key was unlocking this door. It was typical that in the room was my purse, my camera, the satnav & of course the most important thing, the Ritz biscuits. However there was no chance we were getting back into the room, however many times we tried. So for the rest of the night was a running commentary of, I might just go get my camera, oh wait I fucking can't. At least we had each other and a bed to sleep in. But the ironic thing was Kathryn is the most likely person to leave her keys in her bedroom & get locked out, but this time it genuinely wasn't even her fault. So when she told me that there was a £36 lock-out charge, lets just say I had something to say about it.

So the first day of our road trip had come to the end, but I could tell that this week was going to be one to remember. So enjoy a beautiful picture of Bella & Kathryn & maybe stick around for the rest of the week, even if it's not for my amazing blogging skills, but the pure mouth watering pictures of food that will be to follow.

Much love.
Shannon
