2013 Summary!

So before I write my 2014 bucket list I thought I'd reminisce about some of the good times 2013 brought for me! So I started the year on a high with the best new years party to date. I was with all my friends and family and got very happy off of alcoholic beverages; including some very fancy cocktails we made – purple rain & blue lagoon absolutely LUSH. I think the highlight of the night was everyone chanting my dad’s name in the garden. DAVE DAVE DAVE DAVE. I can’t remember a lot else now but I remember having an amazing night.

2013 then led on to bigger things. This was the year where I’d make my first big steps into adulthood i.e. going to university and moving out. I was SO scared, I hardly even thought about Uni most of the time therefore felt like I picked my Uni out of a hat. Okay okay it wasn’t that bad.. I did have a small idea of where I wanted to go & was always set on what I wanted to do. So London it was! I did actually get offers from all five of my universities but out of Cardiff, London, Bath & Leeds. London came out on top…although I didn’t know that until later on in the year. So the beginning of the year was important, preparing for my exams that would either lead me to another year at college or going to university! I couldn’t stand another year at college so I HAD to do well.

However along my college journey I met someone. Someone who at the time I never thought would be as important to me as they are now. In February I had the house to myself for a week, which was also pretty amazing! Especially when you get to spend it with your best-friend! From dog walks along the beach to film nights on the sofa to say the least it was a good week. In this week, this particular someone also came over & to my surprise actually stayed with one of my other very funny, entertaining friends, William Kedjanyi! We all stayed up chatting until 4 & gone & I actually remember it being one of my favourite evenings!

So me & this someone got pretty close & eventually he became my boyfriend on March 28th 2013! :’) So from then on everything was on a high! I have only grown closer to Khaled through 2013 & so happy to say even though things haven’t always been easy for us.. from spending five weeks away from each other in the first 4/5 months of our relationship & moving away to university. However I can happily say I love him to pieces & everything has only made us grow stronger. I think that’s enough wetty stuff for now? ;)

So the year went on & my 18th birthday was here!! Finally the big 1-8. AND legal to buy my own drinks & go out! Although at my birthday party I was the only 18 year old not to go out, yes I was very drunk but come on who doesn’t go out on their 18th birthday. LET DOWN. I had a good time though! Which is always important. And was thoroughly spoilt on my birthday! From beautiful jewelry to a trip to Bristol with my Sewell!

After my birthday and once I got all my exams out the way it was holiday time with the girls!! Gran Canaria here we come! It was definitely a holiday to remember & I couldn’t have spent it with better people! Three of my best friends! The best send off before university! From VODKA LEMON to DONDE ESTA PATRICK? & SPRING CAN SPANION. The memories will never fade. Hopefully 2014 may hold another girls holiday! Who knows? We can only dream. I came home with a lovely tan too, which I was actually pretty proud of! Ahaha. The summer continued involving late night drives to Dawlish & Mcdonalds, Star gazing & Yo Sushi with my boy, shopping days with my girl Sewell, random adventures with the best friend Tessa & lots of other amazing things with all my favourite people!! Thinking about it now Summer 2013 wasn’t all that bad! Although being away from my boy for 5 weeks was tough!!

Before I knew it my summer was over & it was… time. Time to move out to London! I don’t think anything really prepares you for moving out, especially to a big city like London. I was lucky enough to meet some lovely people in my first week so although settling in took a little while, it wasn’t all-bad. I was also lucky enough to find a job in my first week, as my student finance covers my accommodation and ohhh yeah my bloody accommodation. Everyone tells you that you’ll be skint at Uni but you truly don’t expect to have no money! So a job is a must. So anyone reading this who is thinking about Uni please SAVEEEE, save as much as you can! I saved some but that lasted me until ¾ way through my first semester & I didn’t even go out!

My first semester finished & soon enough Christmas was here! Two weeks off was amazing, getting to see everyone again! Family, friends, boyfriend, pets & of course my car. How I miss my car when I’m at University. Oh & my mums cooking. Cooking for yourself is such a chore. I genuinely hate it.

So that was my year for you! Looking back on it now it wasn’t that bad! I went on holiday, I met my boyfriend, got into university, moved to London & successfully got a new job. Sometimes I think I don’t give myself enough credit. However.. hopefully 2014 will have a even better year in store for me. So here is a to a new year full of experiences & positivity! Already 7 days in so here we go!
