Friendships don't last a life time, but memories last forever.

As I wake up every morning I am greeted with memories from my past; my first holiday with my friends, walks along the beach with my dog, new years eve party's, halloween, birthdays, visits to the aquarium and many more. A smile across my face appears, then a deep sense of sadness. Happiness because of the memories, but sadness because some of those people are so far away or have faded from my path. But then I remember that I shouldn't feel sad, I should just appreciate the times I got to spend with these people and the memories that were made. I read a quote that said; "If someone seriously wants to be a part of your life, they will seriously make an effort to be in it. No reasons. No excuses." And the quote is very true. It only takes a couple minutes to send a message to someone you care about, it should never feel like a chore, it should just be done because you want to.

Then this quote made me think of something else. People tend to be close to people who fit into their routine, the one's they involuntarily spend the most time with. For example; school, work, family friends. It's when these routines change that you realise who needs you and the ones that merely enjoy your company when it's convenient. The ones that stick around when you're 100 miles away are the ones that deserve your time, your tears, your love and care. However don't let this sadden you, smile because the memories will never fade.
